Berwen 08.Jan.2005; updated 27.Dec.2016 Not bad for a first try? About 6 hours of work here.The planet is Berwen, homeworld to the skarastaja. It's a desert world, not in a Sahara kind of way, but in a dry, central-southern Alberta/Drumheller or Nevada/Arizona kind of way.

Tsinna Clanhold Map 03.Apr.2021 Behold, the Tsinna Clanhold! This island is the setting for the beginning of the first AOS book, The First Sin. The book's journey begins in Shan Yau, moves to Sanctuary, and then goes on to Sha Nakai. You can even see the rock spire that the characters stop at to watch the great herd on the first day! There is a lot more in the map too. What kind of history could the other points of interest hold?The map was created in Wonderdraft and finished in Photoshop.

I tried a new method of coloring metals and am satisfied with how the jewelry came out. I also hammered out some more details about årdrakin physique: specifically, nostrils and the claws on the hands. Also, the relaxed wing arm is a little different, hanging down the back before angling upwards at the elbow.

Arlayn is a skarastaja digger mine slave. Her job is hard and treacherous work, especially given that food is scarce on Berwen and conditions are horrible. Many people die in the mines.

A complete, naked female årdrakin (Dezÿrí) as seen from the front. All females share the same general features. Differences in build, weight, hair color, hairstyle, body colors, and some other minor details (as well as clothing) create individual appearance. Årdrakin females also adorn themselves with piercings and/or other jewelry according to personal taste.
The wings in this image are not as accurate as they could be; later pictures show them better.

Drakiru Painting 1996
Painted with acrylic on paintboard, mounted on a painted piece of wood. It's showing its age! The castle was copied from a previous piece. The crystals are senecite deposits. I'm not sure why I decided the ground/rocks would be magenta in color, but I do recall being very adamant that certain trees on this planet would have black bark and silver leaves.
Since this was done, Drakiru has become tropical overall and the castle design has also changed.
